Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits petitioner is in custody for almost a year and 6 witnesses out of the cited 20 witnesses have already been examined. Petitioner prays for bail.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the present petitioner is the cause of the dispute and the prosecution case rests on the factum of an illicit relationship between the present petitioner and the deceased. The petitioner allegedly, along with her husband, conspired to kill the paramour who is the son of the defacto complainant.

Having considered the genesis of the case as well as the stage at which the trial is progressing, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (M) 615 of 2026 is dismissed.
