1. The order dated 27th January, 2025 passed by the Registrar, West Bengal Council of Yoga and Naturopathy cancelling the registration of the petitioners under the West Bengal Yoga and Naturopathy System and Medicine Act, 2010 is impugned herein.

2. A bare perusal of the impugned order reveals that the same is a non speaking one. No ground for cancelling registration is reflected in the impugned order.

3. Learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the said order was passed without affording any opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.

4. A detailed representation on behalf of the petitioners was filed before the Registrar and the same is alleged to be kept pending.

5. Learned advocate representing the respondent no. 2 seeks time to file affidavit in the matter.

6. On the face of records it appears that the impugned order is a non speaking one. Only on this ground alone, the impugned order is set aside.

7. The Registrar, West Bengal Council of Yoga and Naturopathy being the respondent no. 2 is directed to revisit the issue upon consideration of the representation filed on behalf of the petitioners and take necessary steps in accordance with law after providing a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioners or their authorized representatives. A fresh reasoned order shall be passed by the Registrar and communicated to the petitioners.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all the requisite formalities.
