Perused the report of the Block Development Officer, Mathurapur-I Development Block, South 24 Parganas, signed on 10th March, 2025 wherefrom it appears that various awareness generation programmes are conducted to manage the grey water in the locality. Volunteers from the VectorBorne Disease Control Programme regularly carry out duties in the area.

A sock pit has been constructed by the Panchayat to manage the grey water in the locality. The inspection report mentions that there is a drainage system near the cowshed to manage the grey water of the hamlet and it has been found that the waste generated from the cowshed is not polluting the pond.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Pollution Control Board of the area has been instructed to take necessary measures to manage and mitigate any pollution which exists because of the cowshed.

In view of the above, the Court is of the opinion that the respondent authorities should keep regular vigils to ensure that no pollution occurs at the said place at the instance of the cowshed which presently has only one calf.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
