Order dictated by Arijit Banerjee, J.

1. The petitioner says that he is in custody for about 7 months. Even charge has not been framed. Barely commercial quantity of brown sugar was allegedly recovered from him. He prays for bail.

2. Learned State counsel tells us that date has been fixed for supply of copy under Section 207 Cr.P.C. There are 11 chargesheet named witnesses. 300 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the petitioner. All efforts will be made to conclude the trial on an early date.

3. We find from the case diary that there is, prima facie, sufficient incriminating material against the petitioner. Commercial quantity of contraband items being involved, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage.

4. CRM (NDPS) 288 of 2025 is dismissed.

5. However, considering the period of detention of the petitioner, we direct the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial and if charges are framed, to conclude the trial on an early date without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.

6. Let this order be communicated by the parties to the learned Trial Court.
