Complaining unauthorised construction and conversion of car parking space to shop room at premises No. 29A, Fazrul Haque Sarani Road, Kolkata - 700017, ward No. 64, the instant writ petition has been filed.

Having heard learned advocates for the respective parties and noting a complaint has been made on 13th February, 2026, I am of the view that the Municipality must take appropriate steps in the matter and decide on the complaint by carrying out an inspection of the locale.

It is expected that the decision in this regard must be taken by the Municipality within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

It is made clear that if the Municipality notices that the car parking spaces have been illegally converted, immediate remedial measure should be taken by the Municipality to restore the same to its original position.

Accordingly, WPA 5378 of 2026 stands disposed of.
