G.P., Mr. Raja Saha, Mr. Debasish Ghosh ...for the State The writ petitioner claims that the respondents have not disposed of a representation dated February 16, 2022 for renewal of a temporary licence issued under the Rule 4(Q) of the West Bengal Excise (Selection of Sites and Grant of License for Retail Sale of Liquor and other Intoxicants) Rules, 2003.

This Court by an order dated September 9, 2021, passed in WPA 1581 of 2020 has already upheld the notification dated December 27, 2019 that the State has a right to cancel a temporary licence issued under the Rule 4(Q) of the aforesaid Rules of 2003.

In that view of the matter, no relief can be granted to the writ petitioner. However, the writ

petitioner may apply for any appropriate new licence as may be entitled in accordance with law. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
