Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of Bhadreswar Police Station Case No. 66/2025 dated 22.02.2025 being registered under the relevant provisions of BNS, but no efforts were put in by the investigating agency for progress of the investigation.

Grievance of the petitioner is also to the effect that the accused persons are roaming freely and threatening the petitioner and his witnesses. Learned advocate appearing for the private respondent submits that petitioner was involved in an incident which blowed out of proportion and there was a consequence for which the present case has been registered.

It has also been alleged by the private respondent that there were complaints with the police authorities but the police authorities did not act upon the same.

State has submitted a report. Report reflects that steps have been taken by the police authorities and the police authorities are also holding raids for securing the arrest of the FIR named accused persons.

Be that as it may, having regard to the nature of the injuries and the genesis of the case I direct the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Bhadreswar Police Station to oversee and monitor the investigation of Bhadreswar Police Station Case No. 66/2025 and inform the progress to the learned ACJM, Chandannagar who is in seisin of the case regarding the steps taken every 21 days.

Petitioner complains of having been threatened. In case the petitioner prefers an application under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018 before the learned ACJM, Chandannagar, learned ACJM, Chandannagar would call for a threat perception report and thereafter pass necessary orders if required for protecting the witnesses concerned.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 5203 of2025 is disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
