The petitioner seeks a separate electricity connection for the portion of the premises occupied by him. Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) submits that it has no objection to providing a new service connection for the portion occupied by respondent no.4. The learned advocate for respondent No. 4 also submits that respondent No. 4 has no objection to the electricity supply for the portion occupied by the petitioner. However, he contends that the meter should be installed in the portion occupied by the petitioner.

In light of the positions expressed by the parties, I find

no reason to keep this writ petition pending. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to CESC to provide the service connection in favor of the petitioner within one month from the date of this order, subject to the petitioner's compliance with all necessary formalities. It is further clarified that the meter will be installed in the portion occupied by the petitioner.

Accordingly, WPA 5292 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
