Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that there was a delay in the lodgment of the first information report.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State submits that the first information report was lodged on the same date of the incident. He refers to the statements of the victim recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. In her statement, the victim squarely implicates the petitioner in the incident.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein as transpiring from the materials available in the case diary, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

CRM (A) 1364 of 2022 is rejected.
