1. The petitioners' application for licence under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 is pending before the State respondents. It is contended that a 'no objection' from the competent authority at Mumbai had already been received.

2. Under such circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of with direction upon the Principal Secretary, Department of Home and Hill Affairs, Government of West Bengal, to treat the writ petition as representation of the petitioners and dispose of the same, upon granting a opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and upon perusing the 'no objection' allegedly granted on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Branch-I, CID, Mumbai. Such decision shall be taken with two months from the date of communication of this order, and a reasoned order shall be communicated to the petitioners.

3. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.

4. All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of the order.
