Mr. Md. Jalaluddin ....for the Petitioner Mr. Asif Dewan ....for the WBSEDCL The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction of the WBSEDCL in providing an electricity connection to the submersible pump which belongs to the petitioner.

On behalf of the WBSEDCL, it is submitted that the petitioner had made an application as far back as in 2011 and the same has been kept pending in view of the failure to deposit necessary statutory charges.

Admittedly, the application filed by the petitioner as far as back in 2011 -2012 and can no longer be considered after a period of more than a decade. The application was made by the father of the petitioner (since deceased) and for all purposes has become stale and absolute.

In view of the submissions made on behalf of the parties, WPA 5592 of 2026 stands dismissed. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to a file a fresh application for a connection in accordance with law and after making payment of the prescribed statutory fees.
