CESC Limited and another Mr. Indranil Halder .... for the petitioner Mr. Rajiv Lall .... for the CESC Limited The petitioner seeks a new electricity connection in his name. However, the CESC Limited has refused to give such connection on the allegation of apprehended splitting of load in case such connection was to be given.

Since such question falls within the domain of the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) under the extant Regulations, it would be unnecessarily usurping the jurisdiction of the said forum by the writ court in the event the present writ petition is entertained.

Accordingly, WPA No.5080 of 2022 is dismissed, with liberty to the petitioner to approach the

concerned GRO with the similar grievance as raised in the present writ petition.

If so approached, the GRO shall endeavour to dispose of the dispute in accordance with law upon hearing all necessary sides within two months from the date of such reference.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
