Petitioner complains that he was married to respondent no. 4's daughter and thereafter when he had been to the house, the respondent no. 4 separated both of them and his wife was taken to a separate destination. Petitioner was confined in a room and severely assaulted. To that effect, information was furnished before the Lalgola Police Station, Murshidabad.

A report has been submitted on behalf of the police station which reflects that the lady namely, Sumita Khatun has communicated with the police station on or about 01.01.2024. There are other documents which have been enclosed. Police

has taken steps in accordance with law and police is in knowhow of the lady that is the daughter of the respondent no. 4. As such I do not find that there is any scope for interference, thereby directing the police authorities to take any steps.

The aforesaid observations will not preclude the petitioner from exhausting the statutory remedies before the appropriate court of law. Petitioner would be at liberty to take steps in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 5389 of 2025 is disposed of.
