Petitioner is in custody since 25th January, 2024. Some of the accused persons have been granted bail. Petitioner's grievance is that he is being unnecessarily detained in custody and there is no progress in the trial of the case. Mr. Somnath Adhikary, learned advocate, represents the State as per direction of this Court. His appearance may be regularized by the concerned authority.

Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, produces the case diary and submits that high quality counterfeit currency notes were seized from the possession of the present petitioner.

Having considered the period of time the petitioner is behind the bars, I direct that the prosecution would take steps for

completing all the seizure list witnesses, preferably within a period of three months from the date of communication of this order. Petitioner would be at liberty to approach this Court after the evidence of the seizure list witnesses are over. At this stage, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM(M)646 of 2026 is dismissed.

Memo of Evidence submitted by the State be kept with the record.
