The petitioners say that they had no role to play in the alleged offence under Sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code. It was a case of mob-lynching. Investigation is complete and charge-sheet has been submitted. They pray for anticipatory bail.

We have seen the statements of witnesses including eye-witnesses in the case diary. Such statements specifically implicate these petitioners as having assaulted the victim who died on the spot. We also find from the medical report that the

victim suffered severe multiple injuries to which he succumbed on the spot.

Given the nature and gravity of the alleged offence and the possible complicity of the petitioners therein, we are not inclined to allow their prayer for anticipatory bail. Accordingly, CRM 2287 of 2021 is dismissed.
