Petitioner has prayed for quashing of G.R. No.79 of 2015 arising out of English Bazar Police Station Case No.13 of 2015 dated 07.01.2015 under Section 204A of the West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993. The charge-sheet in connection with the said case was filed in the year 2015 itself. For the last nine years the case has not progressed.

Having regard to the fact that the case was instituted in the year 2015 and more than nine years have passed and the trial have not commenced, I am of the view that belated prayers for quashing should not be entertained by the High Court on the set of facts which were existing in the year 2015. However, petitioner would be at liberty to take up the issues canvassed in the present revisional application at the appropriate stage of the trial. With the aforesaid observations, CRR 875 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.
