For the State Report submitted by the Officer in Charge, Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Criminal Investigation Department is taken on record.

It appears from the report that the Inspector in Charge, New Town Police Station as well as the CID, West Bengal are taking necessary steps for recovery of the minor girl. The girl is yet to be recovered.

In view of the fact that the Nodal Officer, AHTU, CID, West Bengal is already conducting the investigation, the said authority is directed to take over the investigation and take all possible steps for recovery of the girl. In the event the parents of the girl approach the investigating officer and intend to express their views or assist in investigation, the same should be accepted and recorded by the investigating officer. The Inspector in Charge, New Town Police Station shall hand over the case diary along with all relevant documents pertaining to the investigation to the Nodal Officer at the earliest.

No fruitful purpose shall be served by keeping the writ petition pending. Accordingly, the same is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted.

Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
