The revisional application has been preferred for expeditious disposal of NDPS Case No.08 of 2019 arising out of Habra Police Station Case No.06 of 2019 pending before the learned Special Judge under the NDPS Act and the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court, Barasat, North 24-Parganas. Mr. Arijit Ganguly, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State, is directed to represent the State. His appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities. Having considered the fact that the petitioner is in custody for a considerable period of time and, as such, the anxiety expressed cannot be ruled out. It is also to be taken into account that for a substantial period of time due to pandemic the courts could not operate in its regular mode and manner. However, having regard to the period of detention suffered by the present petitioner, I direct the learned special court to fix dates at regular intervals so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to

either of the parties and no witness should be excused from being present on the date fixed on vague and flimsy grounds. With the aforesaid observations, CRR 602 of 2012 is disposed of.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
