Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is anxious regarding the progress of the trial in respect of Basirhat Police Station Case No. 970 of 2020 dated 21.08.2020 under Sections 21(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Learned advocate submits that five witnesses have already been examined and some more witnesses are left for being examined by the learned trial court.

Mr. Arijit Ganguly, learned advocate appears for the State.

Having regard to the anxiety expressed by the petitioner, I direct the learned Special Court to fix schedule consisting of three dates and to fix one schedule at least in a month on and from December 2022. Learned court would take efforts for concluding the trial within a reasonable period of time.

Needless to state that the public prosecutor representing the State would assure the availability of the witnesses and it is then only, the court would fix schedule/date.

With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 605 of 2021 is disposed of. All pending connected applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
