The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the failure of the CESC Limited in providing a separate electricity connection to the shop room of the petitioner.

On behalf of the respondent CESC Limited, it is submitted that they have been unable to cause an inspection at the subject premises due to third party interference.

In view of the above, WPA 5705 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the concerned police authority being the respondent no. 3 to provide necessary police assistance to the representative of the CESC Limited to cause any inspection.

It is made clear that the payment for such police assistance would be borne exclusively by the petitioner.

The CESC Limited is also granted liberty to take expeditious steps insofar as the application of the petitioner is concerned in accordance with law. The above exercise is to be conducted within the period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order.
