The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that no steps have been taken by Haringhata Police Station in respect of a complaint dated 22nd February, 2020. Md. Galib, Counsel for the State submits that in respect of the petitioner's complaint, Haringhata Police Station have registered an FIR and have submitted charge-sheet being C.S. No. 52 of 2020 dated 19.03.2020 under Sections 448/379/427/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code. It is further submitted that in respect of the same incident, on a complaint received from the son of the respondent no.6, investigation is complete and charge-sheet being C.S. No.130 of 2021 dated 27.06.2021 has been filed under Sections 341/323/325/354/307/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

This Court sees no inaction on the part of the police.

Since the petitioner complaints of threat to his life, person and property, the Inspector-in-Charge,

Haringhata Police Station shall visit the premises of the petitioner again to ensure that there is absolutely no beach of peace in the area. If any complaint is received from the petitioner, it shall be forthwith attended to and it shall be ensured that the petitioner lives in peace in his house.

The instructions of the Inspector-in-Charge, Haringhata Police Station addressed to the Government Pleader, High Court, Calcutta in Court today be taken on record.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
