The Officer-in-Charge, Watgunge Police Station has filed a report dated 03.04.2023, which is taken on record.
The police picket appears to have been posted. Mr. Banerjee, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, however, submits that the picket is not anywhere near the temple.
The police picket shall be stationed as close to the temple, as possible. Strict vigil shall be maintained by the police on the temple so that devotees from all sides can offer prayers without hindrance from any side.
Let investigation into all the pending FIRs be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a month from date.
Let a copy of the report be given to Mr.
Banerjee, learned counsel for the petitioner. As already ordered earlier, the Civil Court's order of injunction shall be strictly enforced by the Watgunge Police Station.
With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.
There shall be no order as to costs.
All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
