The grievance of the petitioners is that, despite the extreme inconvenience of the petitioners due to running of a High Tension Electricity Line over the petitioners' property, the WBSEDCL has not taken any steps for shifting the same.

Learned counsel appearing for the WBSEDCL submits that already the petitioners have approached the WBSEDCL and the latter has also chalked out an alternative route for shifting the same.

However, it is contended that when the WBSEDCL raised a quotation for the petitioners to pay up the shifting charges, the petitioners were apparently not agreeable to pay the amount.

However, upon query of court, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are now agreeable to pay the necessary amount for shifting. Hence, the matter stands resolved in principle.

WPA 5197 of 2022 is disposed of by directing the WBSEDCL to raise a quotation regarding the shifting charges and serve the same on the petitioners. The petitioners, thereafter, shall pay up the shifting charges to the WBSEDCL, upon which the WBSEDCL shall complete the shifting work as expeditiously as possible, preferably within two months from the payment of the amount by the petitioners.

Needless to say, in the event the WBSEDCL personnel face any hindrance or obstruction in so shifting, it will be open to the said personnel to approach the local Police Station for adequate police assistance. If so approached, the Officer-in-Charge/Inspectorin-Charge of the said Police Station shall provide such assistance at the cost of the petitioners.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
