This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which a charge sheet was submitted under Sections 406 and 498A of the Penal Code.

Let a copy of this application be served upon Ms. Manisha Sharma, learned Counsel who ordinarily appear on behalf of the State. Let her represent the State. Her engagement may be regularised by the competent authority of the State in due course. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. The petitioners are the accused in this case. The FIR was lodged on 01.12.2019. The petitioners surrendered and obtained bail on 06.12.2019. A charge sheet was submitted in January, 2020. A charge was framed on 28.10.2021. Till date, out of a total of six witnesses not a single witness could be examined. The matter has remained pending for no fault on the part of the present petitioner.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that it does not appear that the delay has been occasioned in concluding the proceeding.

I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioners and the State and have perused the revision petition.

It appears that for an FIR which was registered in December, 2019, charges had already been framed by October, 2021. The petitioners are also on bail.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I do not think that an inordinate delay has been occasioned in concluding the proceeding.

However, it is expected that the learned Trial Court would conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties. With the above observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
