1. Petitioner is in custody for 143 days. He submits there is no direct evidence connecting him with the murder. Investigation is complete. He prays for bail.

2. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show soon after the incident petitioner was seen running away wearing wet apparels. He did not respond to queries from the witnesses. On his leading statement wearing apparels of the deceased were recovered. Mobile phone of the petitioner was also found near the spot.

4. In view of these incriminating circumstance and as date has been fixed for constitution of charge, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
