The petitioner prays for issue of certified copy of deed which was placed for registration at Swarupnagar ADSR, North 24-Parganas. The registration was completed and a copy of the IGR vide 'REGNC 368016' dated August 28, 1990 was issued, but thereafter it was detected that the stamp papers were forged.

Under such circumstances and in the interest of justice, if the petitioners put in the money equivalent to the stamp duty with the registering authority, the registering authority shall issue the certified copy of the said deed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of such money. The registering authority will keep the money deposited in an interest-bearing fixed deposit account with a nationalised bank.

This order will not prevent the authorities from proceeding in accordance with law with regard to the case of forgery, the investigation of which is still pending. The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
