Mr. Bhattacharyya, learned advocate for the petitioner, fairly submits that the writ petition may have become infructuous. The writ petition was filed on an apprehension that the petitioner will not be allowed to participate in the last assembly election in May, 2021.

The petitioner was registered as candidate but could not enter the constituency.

Since the elections are over, the subject matter of the writ petition is infructuous.

Falta Police Station has filed a report, which is taken on record. It appears from the report that the apprehension of the petitioner was baseless. He had in fact, therefore, participated in the election process.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of without any order for having become infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs.
