In Re: An Application under Section 401 read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

The present revisional application has been preferred challenging the order dated 05.01.2019 passed by the learned Chief Judge, City Sessions Court, Calcutta in Criminal Revision No. 227 of 2017 in connection with C-14214 of 2013. The subject matter of the order had its foundation in the order dated 27.07.2017 passed by the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Calcutta.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the case was transferred to the learned Special Court, CBI, Calcutta pursuant to the order passed by the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Calcutta. The foundation of the order passed by the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Calcutta was on the basis of Notification issued in respect of offences to be tried under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.

Having regard to the foundation of the order passed by the learned Chief Judge, City Sessions Court, Calcutta, I am of the opinion that the same was for the purpose of the jurisdiction under which the complaint case was to be tried

and as such, does not suffer from any illegality. Accordingly, no interference is called for.

The revisional application being CRR 617 of 2019 is, thus, dismissed.

All pending connected applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
