The writ petition has been filed seeking payment of leave encashment amounting to Rs.3,64,423/-. The writ petitioner retired from service on 31.08.2018. He was a mess employee of Indian Maritime University.
Counsel for the respondents denies that the petitioner was at all employee of the University.
It is submitted that leave encashment amount of Rs.3,64,423/- has been paid on 16th November, 2020 after a delay of 806 days.
The aforesaid amount shall carry interest at the rate of 6 per cent per annum for the period of delayed payment. The entitlement
towards interest shall be released to the petitioner within 2 months from date.
With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition is disposed of.
No order as to costs.
