Let a copy of the revisional application be served upon Mr. Anwar Hossain and Ms. Debjani Sahu, learned counsels, who ordinarily appear on behalf of the State. They are requested to appear in this matter. Their engagement may be regularised by the competent authority of the State in due course.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is an accused in this case. He was the alleged driver of the offending vehicle. After being granted bail, he was regularly attending the Court. On 25.11.2021, the date fixed for supply of copies, he could not be present before the learned Trial Court. Accordingly, a warrant of arrest was issued against him. The petitioner wants to join the proceeding at the earliest.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that the petitioner should surrender before the learned Trial Court at the earliest. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels for the appearing for the petitioner and the State and have perused the revision petition.

It appears that the petitioner had been attending the learned Trial Court for a considerable period. At present he wants to join the proceeding at the earliest.

In view of the above, I direct the petitioner to surrender before the learned Trial Court within a period of four weeks from this date. The warrant of arrest shall remain stayed in the meantime. In the event the petitioner surrenders before the learned Trial Court and prays for bail, his application for bail shall be considered in accordance with law.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon completion of requisite formalities. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
