Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the State respondents. 2.
It is submitted by the learned advocate representing the petitioner that since local miscreants are demanding money from the petitioner illegally, petitioner is compelled to approach this Court with the present writ petition.

During course of hearing, it is found that another writ petition being WPA 7211 of 2024 (Abu Kalam Laskar vs. The State of West Bengal and Others) was filed by the petitioner wherein same allegation was made by the petitioner that local miscreants are demanding money to the tune of ₹15 lakhs. There are also other allegations of closing down saree shop and cement godown of the petitioner.

Considering the case made out by the petitioner in the writ petition being WPA 7211 of 2024, an order was passed on 19th March, 2024 by a Co-ordinate Bench
[2] directing Superintendent of Police, Baruipur Police District to investigate the case. Police authorities were also directed to arrest the accused so that justice can be done and criminal proceeding can be taken to logical conclusion. Moreover, police assistance was provided to the petitioner. It also appears from the order that writ petition being WPA 7211 of 2024 is still pending.

Therefore, on identical issue present writ petition is not maintainable and same stands dismissed.

However, petitioner shall be at liberty to take steps in connection with the pending writ petition being WPA 7211 of 2024.
