The grievance of the petitioners pertains to a billing dispute.

The respondent Distribution Company is represented and submits that the petitioners have a statutory alternative remedy and the matter should be remanded to the Grievance Redressal Officer.

In view of the statutory alternative and efficacious remedy available to the petitioners, I am of the view that the instant petition is not maintainable. The petitioners are granted liberty to approach the Grievance Redressal Officer within a week from date.

The Grievance Redressal Officer is directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioners within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of such representation after giving a right of hearing to all the affected parties and passing a reasoned order.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 6406 of 2021 stands dismissed.
