When the matter is called on for hearing, an adjournment is sought on behalf of the respondent authorities, on the ground of absence of counsel. However, in view of the innocuous nature of the relief sought in the writ petition, there is no necessity to hold up the matter further.

The limited grievance of the petitioners is that their application under Section 10 of the West Bengal Highway Act, 1964, made to the authorities (Annexure-P2 at page21 of the writ petition), is not being considered. W.P.A. 4521 of 2020 is, thus, disposed of by directing respondent no.3 to consider and decide upon the representation of the petitioners dated February 3, 2020, annexed at page-21 (Annexure-P2) of the writ petition, within three weeks from date and communicate the decision taken thereon to the petitioners immediately thereafter.

The respondents shall act on the communication by learned advocates and/or server copy of this order without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy thereof.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
