The present revisional application has been preferred at the instance of the accused/petitioner in connection with ACGR Case No. 5670 of 2015 under Sections 323/341/506 of the Indian Penal Code pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 7th court, Alipore, South 24 Parganas.

The petitioner is aggrieved by the manner in which the proceedings are progressing before the learned trial court. It has been submitted by the learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner that the evidence of the case is in progress and the petitioner has been suffering for a period of seven years. Having regard to the fact that the trial of the proceedings are pending for a considerable period of time, I direct the learned Magistrate to fix at least one date in every sixty days so that the trial

of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. Such date be fixed from the next date so fixed by the learned trial court. All efforts should be taken to complete the trial within a period of 18 months from the date of the communication of this order.

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 676 of 2018 is disposed of. All pending applications, if any, in connection with the revisional application, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. [Tirthankar Ghosh, J]
