Heard learned Advocates appearing for the petitioner, the State and the respondent Nos.12 to 14. This writ petition has been filed against the alleged inaction on the part of the respondent police authorities in taking steps pursuant to several representations for redressal of the grievance of not taking effective steps for tracing out the husband of the petitioner who, according to them, is missing from September, 2018.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State respondents has produced reports, prepared by Officerin-Charge, Missing Person Bureau, CID, West Bengal and another by Inspector-in-Charge, Jaynagar Police

Station, Baruipur Police District.

On perusal of the said reports I am satisfied that the respondent police authorities have taken sufficient steps on the basis of the complaint of the petitioner and it also appears from the report of the CID that they are still perusing and taking all possible steps to trace out the missing person, namely, Dr. Bibhas Mondal. Learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that they have never been intimated or informed about the steps taken by the police authority concerned. Learned Advocate for the State respondents should provide a copy of these reports to the learned Advocate for the petitioner and the learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent Nos.12, 13 and 14 within two days.

Being satisfied with the steps taken by the respondent police authorities, I am of the view that no further order needs to be passed in this writ petition. But it is expected that the police authority will pursue the case sincerely and expeditiously.

Reports filed by the State respondents be kept with the record.

WPA 6476 of 2021 is disposed of.
