The revisional application was preferred by the petitioners for expeditious disposal of Case No. N-21 of 2020 pending before the learned Special Court under N.D.P.S Act at Barrackpore under Section 20(b)(ii)(c)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Record reflects that the petitioners were produced in connection with Titagarh P. S. Case No. 187 of 2020 dated 06.03.2020 before the learned Special Judge on 7th March, 2020. The stage at which the present revisional application was filed till that date the petitioners were in custody.

As none appears on behalf of the State, Mr. Arijit Ganguly, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State is directed to represent the State. His appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course.

Having regard to the time period which has elapsed since the initiation of the case, I direct that the learned Special Court should expedite the progress of the trial of the case. To that extent, the learned trial court would fix a schedule consisting of three dates and fix such a schedule once in every two months so that trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. No witness should be excused from appearing before the court on vague or flimsy ground and the prosecution must be compelled to produce all the relevant materials/alamats of the case when a witness is present before the court. All efforts must be taken for concluding the trial at the earliest. With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 640 of 2021 is disposed of. . Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.
