None appears for the respondents, despite notice.

The petitioner was an employee of CSTC and has retired with effect from October 31, 2024. After retirement of the petitioner on November 13, 2024 the authority has issued the certificate certifying that the service benefits are payable to the petitioner annexure P-2 at page 12 to the writ petition. The petitioner complains of till date the petitioner has received 20% of his Contributory Provident Fund (C.P.F.) dues and the balance 80% has not yet been released. Petitioner submitted its representation dated February 4, 2025, annexure P4 at page 15 to the writ petition, the same has not been considered.

In view of the above, the respondent nos. 3 and 4 and/or any other appropriate authority is directed to forthwith release the residual 80% of the C.P.F. dues of the petitioner after due calculation, though according to the petitioner, the same shall be equivalent to a sum of Rs.85,58,404.00 as mentioned in prayer (a) to the writ petition. While calculating and releasing the same, if not released, the respondent nos. 3 and 4 shall calculate interest @ 6% per annum from the next day of the last date of payment of the 20% of C.P.F. amount until the actual tendering of the amount to the petitioner. In default the interest shall be paid @ 8% per annum.

The last payment was made on November 21, 2024, as submitted by the petitioner. Subject to verification of the records and if the amount is not released already, the respondent no. 3 and/or respondent no. 4 and/or any other appropriate authority shall carry out the entire exercise as directed herein including making of payment positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

This direction is mandatory.

With the above observations and directions, this writ petition W.P.A. 5723 of 2025 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
