Present petition has been filed challenging the inaction of the Chairman, State Transport Authority in not responding to the communication of the petitioner dated 2nd December, 2025, whereby the papers were duly submitted as per offer letter dated 24th September, 2025 for issuance of the permit.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was issued letter for grant of Permanent State Carriage Permit(in original permit) by the Secretary, State/Regional Transport Authority, RTO, West Bengal, vide communication dated 24th September, 2025. The petitioner in compliance of the said offer duly submitted the paper along with communication dated 2nd December, 2026. However, the Chairman, State Transport Authority has not responded to the said communication.

Learned Government Pleader has very fairly stated that the concerned authority shall take a decision

in regard to communication dated 2nd December, 2025 within four weeks after hearing the petitioner if require by a reasoned order.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in these circumstances, he does not want to press the petition any further.

In view of the discussion made hereinabove, the respondent no.3 is directed to decide the communication dated 2nd December, 2025 in accordance with law within four weeks from the date of communication of the copy of this order. The concerned authority shall inform the petitioner within one week of the order.

The petition stands disposed.
