Present petition has been filed challenging the inaction of the opposite party respondents in not considering and disposing of the application dated 8th January, 2026 for grant of permit in terms of offer letter dated 24th September, 2025.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was duly offered letter for grant of Permanent State Carriage Permit(in original permit) by communication dated 24th September, 2025.

The petitioner in terms of said offer complied with the terms and conditions as communicated to Chairman, State Transport Authority vide communication dated 2nd December, 2025. However, the concerned authority failed to issue the permit for which a communication was sent on 8th January, 2026.

However, the concerned authority has not responded to the said communication.

Learned Government Pleader has very fairly stated that the concerned authority shall take a decision in regard to communication dated 8th January, 2026 within four weeks after hearing the petitioner if require by a reasoned order.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in these circumstances, he does not want to press the petition any further.

In view of the discussion made hereinabove, the respondent no.3 is directed to decide the communication dated 8th January, 2026 in accordance with law within four weeks from the date of communication of the copy of this order. The concerned authority shall inform the petitioner within one week of the order.

The petition stands disposed.
