The petitioner submits that her husband, an Inspector in the Tax Collection Department of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, passed away while in service on July 1, 1994.

The petitioner further submits that, despite making representations, she has not received any terminal dues from the Corporation following her husband's death.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's case should have been considered by the Corporation. An adjournment has been requested on behalf of the Corporation.

In view of the above, I find no justification to keep the present writ petition pending.

Accordingly, I dispose of the writ petition, directing the Kolkata Municipal Corporation to consider the representation dated January 17, 2022, in accordance with the law, within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order.

In deciding the matter, the Corporation shall provide the petitioner with an opportunity for a hearing.

With the above directions, WPA No. 6077 of 2024, is disposed of.
