Mr. Kalyan Bandyopadhyay, Sr. Adv., Mr. Arindam Banerjee, Mr. Biswajit Kumar, Mr. Indradeep Basu ....for the petitioner Mr. Meghajit Mukherjee, Ms. Mobina Ali ....for the respondent nos. 1 to 3 This writ petition has been instituted seeking a direction upon the learned Tribunal for expeditious disposal of the original application.

Mr. Bandyopadhyay, learned senior advocate representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner made an application for fixation of fair rent before the Rent Controller concerned. The Rent Controller took 14 years to determine the fair rent. However, the order passed by the Rent Controller has been assailed before the learned Tribunal by preferring the original application being O.A.3085 of 2023. The learned Tribunal directed the respondent nos. 2 and 3 to submit a reply within 6(six) weeks prior to the next date of hearing and the next date of hearing has been fixed on 12th June, 2024.

Mr. Mukherjee, learned advocate appearing for the respondent nos. 1 to 3 submits that the reply shall be filed and served upon the petitioner within the time stipulated by the learned Tribunal.

In view thereof, it is expected that the learned Tribunal shall dispose of the original application on the date fixed or within the six weeks thereafter without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this judgment, if applied for, shall be granted to the parties as expeditiously as possible, upon compliance of all formalities. (Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, J.)
