The petitioner submits that after making the application for obtaining drinking water supply connection, the representative of the Municipality visited the premises in question for the purpose of inspecting the same, but thereafter did not proceed any further for effecting water supply connection. The petitioner made representation on 2nd February, 2021 and complains that the same has not been considered till date.

The learned advocate representing the Municipality submits that immediately upon payment of the current taxes along with the outstanding dues and on production of the 'no

dues certificate'' the water supply connection will be effected in the premises of the petitioner, subject to the payment of the water connection charges.

In reply to the aforesaid submission, the learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the current tax bill has not been raised till date and accordingly, the petitioner is not aware of the amount that he is supposed to pay on account of taxes.

The learned advocate for the petitioner undertakes that the current tax as well as all outstanding dues shall be paid immediately upon the bill being presented to the petitioner.

In view of the aforesaid submissions, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Rajpur Sonarpur Municipality to raise and forward the current tax bills along with the outstanding tax dues for payment of the same by the petitioner.

On payment of the taxes the Municipality shall effect the water supply connection to the premises of the petitioner, at the earliest, but positively within six weeks from the date of compliance of all necessary formalities.

WPA 6556 of 2021 stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on completion of usual formalities.
