The Controller of Finance, Howrah Municipal Corporation has forwarded a report before this Court signed on August 30, 2022. A copy of the same has been handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner.

The said report mentions that the office has already processed the pension case of the petitioner and forwarded the same to the Director of Pension, Provident Funds & Group Insurance for issuance of the Pension Payment Order.

Be it recorded that the petitioner is already receiving his provisional pension.

The petitioner has retired in October 2017. It is high time that the respondent authorities release the terminal benefits of the petitioner.

In view of the above, the respondent no. 3 is directed to take immediate steps for issuing the Pension Payment Order in favour of the petitioner without any further delay.

The respondent authorities including the Howrah Municipal Corporation shall ensure that the petitioner receives all his terminal benefits latest within a period of four months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
