(DB) No. 916 of 2023 In Re:- An application for bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Lalgola Police Station Case No. 418 of 2022 dated 04.11.2022 under Sections 498A/325/313/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

And In Re : Sunefa Bibi ..... petitioner Ms. Chandrima Debnath ... for the petitioner Mr. Debabrata Chatterjee, learned APP Mr. Santanu Chatterjee ... for the State Heard the learned Counsels for the parties.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner is the mother-in-law of the victim housewife. Housewife was in the family way. Petitioner kicked in her abdomen resulting in miscarriage. Statement of the victim is corroborated by medical evidence. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
