1. The petitioner is aggrieved by the manner in which the petitioner's application for issuance of permanent license for running the liquor shop has been dealt with by the District Magistrate, Hooghly vide order dated 21st February, 2025.

2. The said order is an appealable one.

3. Learned advocate representing the private respondent raises an objection with regard to the maintainability of the writ petition.

4. There are several disputed questions of fact in the instant writ petition. The claim of the petitioner is being disputed by the respondent no. 8. The petitioner and the respondent no. 8 are at loggerheads in respect of the liquor license. Talks for settlement between the parties have also failed.

5. It will not be proper for the writ Court to enter into such disputed facts and decide the same.

6. It will be open for the parties to approach the appellate forum for remedy, in accordance with law, if so advised.

7. The writ petitioner stands disposed of.

8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all the requisite formalities.
