Here, the offending acts as alleged under the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 were committed in public view. Therefore, the application for anticipatory bail being barred under Section 18 of the Special Act, is dismissed as not maintainable.
