Ms. Srimoyee Mitra ... for the petitioner The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction of the State-respondents in disposing of an application under Section 14 of the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (SARFAESI).

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that pursuant to orders passed in this writ petition, the District Magistrate, North 24-Parganas has passed an order dated 7th May, 2026 disposing the application under Section of the SARFAESI Act, which was filed as far back as on 7th February, 2025. It is also submitted on behalf of the petitioner that pursuant to the order dated 7th February, 2026, a communication has been addressed by the petitioner dated 11th May, 2026 seeking request for providing of police assistance to take physical possession of the secured assets in terms of the order dated 7th April, 2026.

In view of the above, nothing survives in the present writ petition.

WPA 5941 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the concerned District Magistrate to positively take expeditious steps in terms of the SARFAESI Act and bring the proceeding to a logical conclusion.

None appears on behalf of the Staterespondents nor is any adjournment prayed for on their behalf.

The petitioner is directed to communicate this order forthwith to the concerned authorities, who are directed to respond expeditiously in terms of the request dated 11th May, 2026. All parties including the State, the concerned police authorities and petitioner are directed to act expeditiously in implementing the order dated 7th May, 2026.
