The instant criminal revisional application is pending since 1996 and as such, is required to be disposed of. The instant revisional application has been filed for quashing of a proceeding being Section P3 ( Narkeldanga Police Station) Case No. 179 dated 20.07.1996 under Section 307/341 of the Indian Penal Code and 25(1B)(a)/27 of the Arms Act pending before the Court of the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sealdah, 24 Pargans (South) (Corresponding to G.R. Case No. 1646/96). Perused the report submitted by the District Judge, South 24 Pargans dated 22nd June, 2023 forwarding the report of G.R.O, Sealdah Court.

Perused the contention of the revisional application along with copy of the FIR the alleged offence is serious in nature and the petitioner must face the trial and this Court is not inclined to quash the proceedings.

Accordingly, the instant revisional application is dismissed. The learned trial court is to take necessary steps in disposing of the G.R. Case No. 1646/96 as expeditiously as possible preferably within one year from the date of communication of this order. Copy of the order be sent to the Department as well as trial court for due compliance.
