The grievance of the petitioner has been addressed by the concerned authority. The Pradhan of Benachapra Gram Panchayat had intimated the Block Development Officer, Garhbeta-I Development Block that a sum of Rs.44,400/- had been paid to the petitioner for the financial year 2021-22 and Rs.11,000/- for the financial year 2019-20. The authorities have also decided to re-engage the petitioner as a 'Water Facilitator' and the order of disengagement has been cancelled. The letter of the Pradhan dated April 11, 2023 and the resolution adopted by the gram panchayat have been filed along with the report. The copies of the cheques have been annexed. The report is taken on record.

Thus, the Court does not find that any useful purpose will be served to keep the writ petition, pending. If the cheques are dishonoured, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Block Development Officer for necessary action so that the amounts are credited to the account of the petitioner. In furtherance thereto, the petitioner can also take steps in accordance with law against the signatory.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
