Mr. Anirban Sarkar ... for the respondents The petitioner assails an order of mutation passed by the Block Land and Land Reforms officer being the respondent no. 5 herein.

Mr. De, appearing on behalf of the State submits that the instant petition is not maintainable in view of the embargo and statutory bar contained in Section 2R of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act and Section 6 of the Land Reforms Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997.

In view of the fact that the petitioner has an adequate, alternative, efficacious statutory remedy and there are no exceptional grounds made out as to why this petition ought to be entertained, WPA 4783 of 2019 is dismissed as not maintainable.

The petitioner is granted liberty to avail of the alternative, efficacious statutory remedy, if so advised in accordance with law.
